Nineteen Minutes

I finished reading Ninteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. It's one of those books you just cannot put down. It keeps you turning the pages, revelishing every word, every observation. Trying to squeeze in a few more words before you completely doze off at the late hours of the night in the hope you will be a little closer to reaching the end.

This book is about childhood, challenges of growing up as an outsider and the ability of children to lock themselves in and hide their true feelings from those who should know them best - their parents.

This is a must read for all parents. It is painfully honest and so beautifully observed.

Starting on The Box of Exploding Mangoes and looking forward to it after all I have heard.

time for a new entry, yes? It would be good to get your perspective on how you respond to different responses to you. just an idea
Everything becomes so subjective. I would likely end up trying to defend my position... but then again I think, and hope, that I have the insight to see where I am going wrong and also where I can make changes within myself if I offend or disturb someone.

Then again I have come to the age where after my experinces I think its best to leave those I lock horns with to it. Especially if I have made attempts to reach them earlier. There is no point in trying to change a person or make them see my point of view - Its best to turn the other cheek and resort to conversations about the weather or the next bird-flu epidemic instead of wasting energy on a futile relationship which only brings pain and rejection.

But thank you Rahina... I will consider it.....
